Im new to the board and this is my first post here. I've recently found a love for the 1911 style pistols and picked up a Remington Rand I believe. My Question is did RR make guns with out a NO or No before the serial number? I will list some of the marking on the gun maybe someone could help me out. Before you jump be sure it is truely a Remington-Rand pistol, and not a R-R slide on some other contractor's frame. HS marked barrel. HS is the marking of High Standard.
'G' marked tow on the General Shaver contract magazine. These magazines are recognized by the G mark on the toe and the spot welded seam up the back of the magazine.

Using these barrel codes to date a shotgun is somewhat unreliable, as shotgun barrels are often interchanged at random.
