Set preferences for the new Outlook for Mac. Administrators and other IT professionals can plan, implement, and maintain deployments of the new Outlook for Mac with a standard set of preferences described in the Office for Mac admin deployment guide. By default, Outlook for Mac doesn't automatically download pictures or photos in email messages if the images are stored on the Internet. This practice helps to protect your privacy because downloading an Internet picture can alert the sender that your email address is active and that you received the message.
When you receive new e-mail, Outlook can notify you by displaying an alert on your desktop, or by bouncing the Outlook icon in the Dock. Outlook also plays sounds to notify you of new email messages, event reminders, and more.
Outlook uses a default set of sounds, but additional sound sets are available from third parties on the Internet. A sound set for Outlook is a folder that contains six sound files and a .plist file that maps each sound file to an Outlook event.
